This website is operated by ATHLETES UNRIVALED PTY LTD, trading as The MIDS Cup, from Melbourne, Victoria (we, us or our).
We are an Australian business organising The MIDS Cup, a men's football tournament for registered players aged 18 and over. This policy applies to personal information collected through this website and through tournament enquiries.
Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies to us, this page is intended to be our Australian Privacy Principles (APP) privacy policy.
02 / WHAT WE COLLECT
Only what we need.
Depending on how you contact us or take part, we may collect:
- your name, club, role, email address and phone number;
- the details in an enquiry, expression of interest or partnership conversation;
- club, player and squad information needed to administer the Cup;
- media preferences and permissions for match filming, livestreams and highlights;
- technical information such as IP address, browser, device, pages visited and security logs.
Health or injury information is sensitive information. We will only ask for it where it is genuinely needed for event safety or medical support, with a separate notice and consent process. Do not send health information through this website unless we ask you to.
You may browse the public parts of this website without identifying yourself. If we ask for personal information, we will give you a collection notice explaining why we need it, who may receive it and what happens if you do not provide it.
03 / HOW WE USE IT
What information is for.
We may collect, hold, use and disclose information to:
- answer enquiries and manage club, brand-partner and food-partner conversations;
- assess and administer tournament participation, fixtures, prize payments and matchday operations;
- arrange venue, officials, medical, recovery, filming, livestream and highlight services;
- keep the website secure, understand basic website use and fix technical problems;
- send replies or service updates you have asked us to provide; and
- meet legal, insurance, accounting and safety obligations.
We will not use sensitive information for direct marketing. We will only send marketing messages where permitted and will provide a simple way to stop them.
05 / STORAGE AND SECURITY
Keep it safe. Keep it only as long as needed.
We use reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps may include access controls, secure services, staff procedures and deleting information when it is no longer needed.
Our default retention approach is purpose-based: enquiries are kept for up to 24 months after the last contact; and event, insurance, payment and financial records are kept for as long as reasonably needed for operations and legal or accounting obligations, ordinarily no longer than seven years unless a longer period is required.
If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm and the Australian Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies, we will follow the required assessment and notification process.

Access or correct your information.
You may ask us for access to personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is wrong, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Contact privacy@themidscup.com.au. We may need to check your identity before responding.
We are not currently operating an email update list or mailing list. If that changes, we will update this policy and seek any consent required before sending marketing messages.
